MILWAUKEE — Blake Perkins hit a three-run homer, and Kyle Harrison bounced back from a tough outing to pitch six innings of three-hit ball, leading the Milwaukee Brewers to a 4-0 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday.
Perkins, batting .113, put the Brewers ahead 4-0 in the fourth with his first home run of the season against Cristopher Sanchez (8-3), who had previously gone 6-0 over nine starts. Sanchez allowed four runs on eight hits in 5 2/3 innings, marking his first loss since April 18.
Harrison (8-1) was efficient, giving up three singles, striking out three, and not allowing any walks in an 80-pitch outing. Abner Uribe and Aaron Ashby contributed with scoreless innings to close the game.
Perkins hit his homer following consecutive singles by William Contreras and Gary Sanchez. Jackson Chourio also contributed, leading off the first inning with his ninth home run, putting the Brewers ahead 1-0.
Milwaukee continues its six-game homestand with a three-game interleague series against the Cleveland Guardians on Monday, while Philadelphia heads home to face the Miami Marlins after a 3-3 road trip.
