Such studies are vital for assessing whether necessary resources and capacities are available, identifying risks early, and ensuring informed decision-making. They prevent pursuing unviable projects and help allocate resources effectively.

The author has conducted feasibility studies for major airport investments and often recommended against projects. A successful path forward for Air Antilles might involve a lean, Public Service Obligation (PSO) airline, backed by a strong partner and a refined network. If the political or financial support isn’t feasible, a new operator may be needed.

PSO contracts ensure essential routes can operate despite lacking commercial viability, through guaranteed compensation from the government. Engaging experienced airline professionals, like those from Air Caraibes and St.Barth Executive, could provide valuable insights. However, previous planning shortcomings raise questions about past decision-making processes.
